Okay, for the last two evenings, random opera/classical music has been coming from somewhere in the complex. Which was all well and good when it was Vivaldi at 7 p.m., but Pavarotti at nearly midnight? Kind of weird.
Now we've moved onto some sort of aria, with a rather lovely soprano, but still...

So, moving to California a wee bit sooner than I expected. Have been rushing around house like madwoman trying to get stuff packed up for storage. I must say, having a cold certainly doesn't help matters. So many things are backburner (must burn CDs and read JoJo, dammit).
Plus, a while ago, I placed an order on Overstock.com. Various delightful things occurred involving talking to two customer service agents, having an ambiguous order status, and finally, giving up and having the order cancelled three weeks later when it looked like it wouldn't ship. Local B&N said they could have it in a week, and they call up today and say, book is in, want to pick it up? Which is awesome since I have to leave early on the 27th and I was hoping it would get in.
Except. I go out to the mailbox, check today's mail after receiving call from B&N. What is waiting in box? Package from Overstock containing the book. My account still shows it having been cancelled and credited back to card. Am now incredibly baffled, wondering if I received a free book, and why it showed up after all this "out of stock," "nowhere to be found," "computer glitch" mess. Will have to check next card statement. Hmm.
Oh, well at least I can read Only The Ring Finger Knows (novel) on the plane and hope I get a seatmate who doesn't ask what yaoi is.
