Cape Fear
Robert De Niro menaces Jessica Lange, Nick Nolte and Juliette Lewis. Perhaps that's why the latter two turned so strange. Watch for Joe Don Baker, Robert Mitchum, and Gregory Peck!

2:45 PM [Showtime Beyond]
Curse of the Komodo
A giant komodo dragon menace casino thieves and scientists on an island called Komodo Island. Has a topless scene, apparently, if you're into watching that sort of thing on a Sunday afternoon. I would not vouchsafe any form of quality in the movie beyond the title, which brings delightful memories of 50s B-movies.

8:00 PM [Encore Drama]
Firestarter
You know this one. Young Drew Barrymore starts fires with her mind. Along with her psychic dad, she runs from evil government agents. Classic Stephen King and easily the best horror bet for the day. Also has Heather Locklear and Martin Sheen for those interested.

11:45 PM [Encore Mystery]
Dead Ringers
Another David Cronenberg movie, this one has Jeremy Irons in a dual role as twin gynecologists who fracture apart over an actress with an "abnormal reproductive system." Like most Cronenberg movies, contains terribly bizarre behavior both in waking and dreaming life.

The Machine Girl is truly an awesome, psychotic tale of a Japanese schoolgirl that takes revenge on the bullies that killed her brother. Initially, said revenge does not go off so well, due to the fact that while she possesses the necessary spirit for vengeance, she does not possess any kickass weapons to take on the bullies and their yakuza family connections. Barely escaping with her life, minus an arm lost to some tempura, she gets help from the chainsaw-packing mom of another murdered schooboy and a truly kickass machine gun arm.

There's more fun to come included an even more bizarre scene with the mother of the main bully, and her drill bra of DEATH! But I will say no more. Watch this if you have a stomach for seeing a man's face filled with nails.
